A house manual template you fill in tonight

The structure follows the eight-section guide: questions answered in the order they occur to a guest who just walked in.

The full template

Plain Markdown: opens in any editor, pastes into Word or Google Docs, prints cleanly. Replace everything in [brackets], delete the italic instruction lines, and the manual is done.

# Welcome to [Fern Street Apartment]

## Wi-Fi

Network: **[NETWORK_NAME]**
Password: **[ExactPassword2026]** (capitalization matters)

*If you can, generate a join-network QR code at qifi.org and paste it below.*

## Getting in

1. [Street gate: buzzer 42, or code 1234# on the keypad]
2. [Elevator: 5th floor, apartment 52]
3. [Door: the small gold key opens the top lock; the bottom one stays unlocked]

*One photo of each obstacle is worth three paragraphs: shoot the gate, the keypad and the lock.*

## The appliances that confuse people

**Shower:** [left valve is hot; let it run 30 seconds before stepping in]

**Air conditioning:** [remote lives in the nightstand drawer; if the unit is dead, flip the AC breaker in the hallway panel]

**[Third appliance]:** [only if it has ever generated a guest message — otherwise delete this line]

## House rules

1. [Quiet after 10pm — the building enforces it, not us]
2. [No smoking indoors; the balcony is fine, there's an ashtray]
3. [Pets: not this time — the next guest may be allergic]

  1. 1.Fill in Wi-Fi, entry and appliances first — those are the sections that kill messages; the neighborhood can wait for round two.
  2. 2.Photograph the gate, the keypad and the shower on your next visit; the photos carry more than the text.
  3. 3.Print one copy for the table and send the file (or a link to it) in your confirmation message — the two channels cover each other.

After it's filled in

The template solves the writing. What it can't solve is delivery: a Markdown file doesn't reach a guest by itself, and the printed-vs-digital question decides whether this becomes a laminated sheet, a PDF, or a link. If the answer ends up being 'a page guests open from WhatsApp with photos inside' — that's the product Guest Manual wants to be, and the waitlist is on the landing page.
